The Radiophonic Workshop – ‘Through A Glass Darkly’ clear vinyl LP
‘Through A Glass Darkly’ is largely the work of Radiophonic Workshop stalwart Peter Howell, who joined the BBC’s sonic fun factory in 1974. It was first released on BBC Records in 1978 and features six original instrumental compositions, the title track lasting almost 20 minutes and taking up the whole of the first side, with the Workshop’s distinctive electronic sound given a bit of a prog rock rub. The final track, ‘The Astronauts’, also appeared on the B-side of the single release of Peter Howell’s version of the ‘Doctor Who’ theme tune in 1980.
This 2020 reissue of ‘Through A Glass Darkly’ on Silva Screen is a limited edition pressing on clear vinyl, with just 350 copies available in the UK.
