The Orb – ‘Hawk Kings’ / ‘Golden Clouds’ | Sold Out
Out of stock
We’re delving into the cosmic ultraworld of The Orb for this month’s cover story, as we ready ourselves for the release of ‘Abolition Of The Royal Familia’, the forthcoming new album from chill-out superstar Alex Paterson and his current accomplice Michael Rendall. Expect the unexpected, as always with The Orb, but for health and safety reasons we ought to give you advance warning of the dog in the spacesuit. We also have a fantastic seven-inch single featuring two top quality Orb tracks to accompany the magazine. On one side is ‘Hawk Kings (Oseberg Buddhas Buttonhole)’, an homage to Professor Stephen Hawking and one of the many highlights of ‘Abolition Of The Royal Familia’. Over on the other side is ‘Golden Clouds’, which has Lee “Scratch” Perry on vocals and is described by Paterson as “a Jamaican version of ‘Little Fluffy Clouds'”. It’s 30 years since the original track came out, but we guarantee that little melody will still send shivers down your spine. As with all of our seven-inch releases, this release is only available to readers of Electronic Sound, so make sure you grab your copy while you can.
