John Foxx And The Maths – ‘Howl’ on red vinyl
John Foxx And The Maths
Probably the most anticipated album of John Foxx’s career since his debut back in 1980, ‘Howl’ is an unrestrained burst of ragged synthesis and wild guitar. As we said in our review: “A brief and focused explosion of electronics and cage-rattling guitar contained in a mix that sounds like it might just kick your face off for laughs at any moment.”
‘Howl’ reunites Foxx with ‘Systems Of Romance’-era Ultravox guitarist Robin Simon, as well as Hannah Peel and Benge, for a record that is perfectly in tune with the distortion of 2020. Our review concluded: “The sheer fuck-it audacity and lack of politeness on offer here is just what the doctor ordered.”
This version of the album is a limited edition on red vinyl.
