Tangerine Dream have announced a new seven-album boxset ‘In Search Of Hades: The Virgin Recordings 1973 – 1979’. It features newly remastered versions of ‘Phaedra’, ‘Rubycon’, ‘Ricochet’, ‘Stratosfear’, ‘Encore’, ‘Cyclone’ and ‘Force Majeure’.
The deluxe set also includes two Blu-Rays, which feature 5.1 surround sound versions of ‘Phaedra’ and ‘Ricochet’, as well as the soundtrack to ‘Oedipus Tyrannus’, all mixed by Steven Wilson. There’s also 35 minutes of footage from the group’s famous performance at Coventry Cathedral and the previously unreleased German television documentary ‘Signale Aus Der Schwäbischen Strasse’, which features live performances by Edgar Froese, Chris Franke and Peter Baumann. The boxset also includes the full concerts at The Victoria Palace Theatre, The Rainbow Theatre, and the Royal Albert Hall, as well as an audio version of the Coventry Cathedral performance, a 68-page hardback book containing a new essay and unseen photos and a reproduction of the original ‘Ricochet’ promo poster.
