Soft Cell announce ‘Keychains & Snowstorms’ boxset

Soft Cell have announced ‘Keychains & Snowstorms – The Soft Cell Story’, a 10-disc (nine CD, one DVD) boxset spans the entirety of the bands career, due for release on 7 September.

‘Keychains & Snowstorms’ contains over 50 per cent of unreleased material, as well as remastered A and B-sides of 12-inch singles, seven-inch edits, alternate versions, demos, live performances throughout the years and “an entire suite of early songs produced by Daniel Miller”.

The DVD includes the ‘Non-Stop Exotic Video Show’ as well as official promos for ‘Where The Heart Is’, ‘Numbers’, ‘Down In The Subway’ and ‘Monoculture’. There’s also a number of TV appearances, including the ‘Oxford Road Show’, ‘Top Of The Pops’, ‘The Tube’, the 1983 ‘Supersonic’ Christmas Special plus a previously unreleased gig ‘Live At The Amnesia’ from 1981. The ‘Young Guns Go For It’ BBC documentary is also included.

The entire set comes in a 10-inch x 10-inch square box and features a comprehensive book packed with photos and a new essay by music journalist Simon Price.
