Holger Czukay, Co-Founder of Can, Dead At 79

Holger Czukay, bass player of Can and pioneer of tape music techniques, has died. He was 79. Czukay left Can in 1977 and went on to work with the likes of Jah Wobble, David Sylvian, the Japanese singer Phew with Conny Plank and any others. His most recent releases were vinyl-only limited editions through the Claremont 56 label, including 2010’s ‘Dream Again’, four remixes of his solo work from the early 1980s which was released as a double 10-inch on clear vinyl in a limited edition of 666.

The above video of Can playing live in Germany in 1970 is well worth an hour and a half of your time today.
