BBC Radio 3 will host the latest of its Open Ear concerts at LSO St Luke’s on Saturday 14 April. The series, which is recorded for future broadcast, explores contemporary and experimental music that combines both electronic and acoustic instruments.
The April concert features Exaudi, one of the world’s leading experimental vocal ensembles, and the new music company We Spoke. The pieces will include Simon Loeffler’s ‘b’, for which analogue and digital fluorescent lights, the naked flame, strobe lights and custom-built LED discs are combined with percussion to create an ingenious sound and lighting design. The concert will rotate between several stages within LSO St Luke’s Jerwood Hall, an 18th century grade one listed Hawksmoor church, and the composers and performers will be interviewed by Radio 3’s Sara Mohr-Pietsch and Tom Service between the sets.
The concert starts at 7pm, with tickets costing £10, £5 for under 18s. Click here for more information and to book tickets.
