Electronauts Festival takes place from 15 to 17 June in Hamburg

The Electronauts Festival is taking place from 15 to 17 June at the Elbphilharmonie concert halls in Hamburg, Germany.

Celebrating the pioneers of electronic music, the three-day festival is dedicated to kosmische legend Manuel Göttsching and other “electronauts”, focusing on music produced with synthesisers from the pre-digital era and using the music of the 1970s and 1980s as a starting point.

The festival will feature a variety of concerts and workshops, including performances by Manuel Göttsching himself (who will be playing his classic ‘E2-E4’), Martyn Ware, The Radiophonic Workshop and Morton Subotnick. Synth heads will also be pleased to hear that “both the monophonic instruments created by Robert Moog and those invented by Don Buchla are represented at the festival”.
