Erasure’s Andy Bell and Vince Clarke have announce details of their new album. ‘World Be Gone’, their 17th studio album, will be released by Mute on 19 May.
The follow-up to 2014’s ‘The Violet Flame’, the 10-track album finds Erasure in thoughtful mood giving the world and recent political upheavals a thoughtful examination. “I’m hoping that people will take the album in a positive way, that they’ll use it as optimistic rabble-rousing music,” explains Andy Bell. On first listen, we can indeed confirm that it positively froths with optimism in the face of these trying times.
‘World Be Gone’ will be available on CD, vinyl and cassette. There’s also a fantastic sounding limited edition orange vinyl. Everyone who pre-orders by 7 April will get their name included on the album artwork. To pre-order visit erasure.pmstores.co
Erasure are also hitting the road with three headline dates and a special guest slot on Robbie Williams’ stadium tour this summer. Their own shows see them visit Glasgow’s O2 Academy (27 May), Manchester’s Albert Hall (28 May) and London’s Roundhouse (29 May), while the Fat Bob dates kick off on 2 June at Manchester City’s Ethiad Stadium and finish up on 10 Sep in Moscow. Ticket go on sale next Friday (3 March).
