christmas synth

As we begin the sleigh ride in to Xmas, we’re going to be counting down our Albums Of The Year, one a day, right up to Xmas Eve when we’ll be unveiling our top choice, the grand fromage of this year’s long-players.

And what a year it’s been. It’s no mean feat making this year’s list as you’ll see from the high quality of runners of riders. As is always the way, when we started to put the list together we had a pretty clear idea of the shape it would take. But the more we looked back over the year, the more it changed. The top spot changed hands more than once over the last few weeks.

It’s a list that gave us more than a few headaches. So much so, we can’t let it into the wild without a doffed cap to a whole bunch of highly commended releases that didn’t make it into the final 24. Take a look at what didn’t make it and then be wowed by the records that did!
